Flashpoint is a 1984 American neo-western action thriller film starring Kris Kristofferson, Treat Williams, Rip Torn, Jean Smart, Kurtwood Smith, and Tess Harper.The film is directed by William Tannen in his directorial debut, and is based on the novel of the same name by George LaFountaine, [1] with a screenplay by Dennis Shryack and Michael Butler.
The post-credits scene in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox sets up the film Justice League: War which officially began the DC Animated Movie Universe. [6] A plot point towards the end of the film is also revisited and expanded in Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, which also belongs to the DC Animated Movie Universe continuity. [7]
The studio knew they wanted to do some kind of interpretation of Flashpoint, but I didn't want this to be a literal translation of the comic book. I respect the fandom a lot, but I think the fandom would also expect new things from a movie.
