Maigret is a British television series made by the BBC and which – following a pilot episode broadcast in 1959 – ran for 52 episodes from 1960 to 1963. [ 1 ] Based on the Maigret stories of Georges Simenon , the series starred Rupert Davies in the title role.
In September 2024, the main cast and creative team were revealed along with the news that production had commenced in Budapest, where several previous Maigret adaptations have been shot. The six-episode series will air on PBS under their Masterpiece Mystery banner whilst global distribution will be handled by Banijay Rights .
