Richard Evans (born 23 October 1969) is an artificial intelligence (AI) research scientist at DeepMind. His research focuses on integrating declarative interpretable logic-based systems with neural networks, [1] [2] [3] and on formal models of Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. [4] [5] [6] Previously, he designed the AI for a number of computer games.
The Google Brain project began in 2011 as a part-time research collaboration between Google fellow Jeff Dean and Google Researcher Greg Corrado. [3] Google Brain started as a Google X project and became so successful that it was graduated back to Google: Astro Teller has said that Google Brain paid for the entire cost of Google X.
He studied at Christ's College, Cambridge, [3] graduating in 1997 with the Addison-Wesley award, and having befriended Demis Hassabis whilst at Cambridge. [4] Silver returned to academia in 2004 at the University of Alberta to study for a PhD on reinforcement learning, [5] where he co-introduced the algorithms used in the first master-level 9×9 Go programs and graduated in 2009.
Scientists at Google DeepMind, Alphabet's advanced AI research division, have created artificial intelligence software able to solve difficult geometry proofs used to test high school students in ...
Within DeepMind he set up a research unit called DeepMind Ethics & Society to study the real-world impacts of AI and help technologists put ethics into practice. [ 39 ] Suleyman is also a founding co-chair [ 40 ] of the Partnership on AI [ 41 ] – an organisation that includes representatives from companies such as Amazon , Apple , DeepMind ...
In 1984, Sutton was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Massachusetts. From 1985 to 1994, he was a principal member of technical staff in the Computer and Intelligent Systems Laboratory at GTE in Waltham, Massachusetts. [3] After that, he spent 3 years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a senior research scientist. [3]
Jeffrey Adgate Dean (born July 23, 1968) is an American computer scientist and software engineer. Since 2018, he has been the lead of Google AI. [1] He was appointed Google's chief scientist in 2023 after the merger of DeepMind and Google Brain into Google DeepMind. [2]
AlphaDev is an artificial intelligence system developed by Google DeepMind to discover enhanced computer science algorithms using reinforcement learning.AlphaDev is based on AlphaZero, a system that mastered the games of chess, shogi and go by self-play.
