Good gel coat well maintained should last at least 25 to 30 years. A good 2 part LP paint job should last 10 to 11 years. The initial gel coat is thick, but at some point UV damage occurs. When cracking you probably will be better off having the hull repaired, and then LPed. But a good prep job is much of the cost.

These are almost new warranty jobs, so paying for high quality results. These were pre-covid, so cost and timeline have likely gone up. And if you are looking for more pedestrian quality job you will save some.
Here's what I did for a bunk trailer: 1) Do everything except what is covered by the bunks themselves, and put chocks around wheels. 2) Lift the tongue way up, put blocks under the bow, & lower trailer. 3) Paint between the gap in the front part of the bunks. Part of the bunk is still in contact with boat.

But it would have helped if the OP had identified his location instead of relying upon us to research it. The Boating Forum - Anti fouling paint - Total Boat - West marines ablative antifouling paint goes for $140/gal works well and goes on easily. I have applied the past few seasons.
04-20-2014 04:29 PM. Bottom paint on transducer. I recently had my boat repainted with bottom paint. This weekend as I was installing my plug I noticed that they had painted over my thru hull transducer (airmar 1K tilted element). I am concerned that it will not function properly with the paint on it but I have not put the boat in the water yet ...
Bottom Paint pricing 2022. Just got the price list for spring commissioning. I feel like this is a bit overkill, but wanted a sanity check: $31.95/ft recoat on trailer. $199 extra to paint trim tabs. $140 extra to paint engine bullet and trim bracket. My boat is already bottom painted, so no first time paint prep work required.

I decided that I was sick of looking at the forward side compartments - alot of junk has been thrown in them and they have some nicks, cuts and rust stains.
