Victoria Mitchell (born 25 April 1982) is an Australian long-distance runner who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Victoria took part in the World Student Cross Country Championships in 2002 and finished in eleventh place. Victoria won two Horizon League Cross Country Championships in 2004 and 2005 as a Butler University student-athlete.
Also that year, Butler's men's cross country team finished fourth in the nation at the NCAA Cross-Country Championships, and their own Victoria Mitchell became the first Horizon League athlete to win an individual national title when she captured the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
As Milwaukee defeated Valparaiso in its semifinal match, it secured host status for the championship game against Butler as well; the final was broadcast by ESPN/ESPN3.com. Butler defeated Milwaukee 59–44 in the final, winning its second consecutive Horizon League tournament title and receiving an automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA tournament.
All Horizon League schools played in the tournament. Teams were seeded by 2009–10 Horizon League Conference season record, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The top 2 teams, Butler and Wright State, received a bye to the Semifinals.
The 2008 Horizon League men's basketball tournament was scheduled at the end of the 2007–2008 regular season. The better seed hosted each first round match. Butler hosted the second round and semifinals, because they were the top seed. The final was hosted by the better remaining seed.
