Central Penn College was founded in 1881 under the name "Pennsylvania Business College". Its original location was on Market Street in Harrisburg. [1] In 1970 the new president Bart Milano moved the Central Pennsylvania Business School, as it was known at that time, across the river to Summerdale where it continues to operate today. [2]

Susquehanna University is a private, non-profit liberal arts college in central Pennsylvania devoted primarily to undergraduate education. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. [17] Susquehanna has a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1 with 90% of full-time faculty holding a doctorate or highest equivalent degree. [18]
Albright Collegiate Institute opened in 1895 and was renamed Albright College three years later. Union Seminary, meanwhile, became Central Pennsylvania College in 1887 and merged with Albright College in 1902. Schuylkill Seminary, the third institution, was founded in 1881, became Schuylkill College in 1923, and merged into Albright in 1928. [4]
