Storm Eunice (/ ˈ j uː n ɪ s /) (known as Storm Zeynep in Germany and Storm Nora in Denmark) was an extremely powerful extratropical cyclone with hurricane-force winds that was part of the 2021–2022 European windstorm season. Storm Eunice was named by the UK Met Office on 14 February 2022.
Storm Eunice is forecast to cause poor weather conditions across the UK and Europe today. We are working in close collaboration with our airport partners to minimise any disruption.
However, if a Northern group storm was used to overwrite another storm like Eunice, it was not added to the overall total of storms within the 2021–22 European windstorm season, as they were the same storms with different names. This was the case for storm Eunice, which was named Nora in Denmark (and so the latter name is not listed below). [11]
The name Eunice was used for two tropical cyclones worldwide: one in the Western Pacific Ocean and one in the South-West Indian Ocean. Eunice was also used as one of the named storms during the 2021–2022 European windstorm season: In the Western Pacific: Typhoon Dolores-Eunice (1948) – a weak tropical storm that affected Japan.

Storm Dudley, along with Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin, formed by a sting jet, a narrow band of winds that can create narrow and intense winds in a small area. It was also partly due to a large polar vortex in the Arctic that formed these storms. The storm trio isn't particularly rare for the area, as it has happened before. [9]
