The significant aspect of the Estate is Lower Brockhampton, a timber framed manor house that dates to the late 14th century, surrounded by a moat, and entered by a restored gatehouse at the front of the house. Croft Castle is a country house in the village of Croft, Herefordshire, England.Owned by the Croft family since 1085, the castle and estate passed out of their hands in the 18th century, before being repurchased by the family in 1923.
Its location and historic character is the reason why so many waymarked long-distance footpaths pass through Kington today, including the Mortimer Trail, the Herefordshire Trail and the Offa's Dyke Path. The Black and White Village Trail follows the half-timbered cottages and houses in local Herefordshire villages.
