Winmau, pronounced "win more", is a Welsh manufacturer of dartboards, other darts equipment and title sponsor of the oldest darts tournament still running, the Winmau World Masters. Founded in 1945, Winmau was acquired by rival dartboard manufacturer Nodor in 2002, headed by John Bluck, with both brands remaining in production.
The Winmau BDO 9-Dart Club was an initiative launched and partnered by the British Darts Organisation and long-term sponsor Winmau in January 2013, [1] [2] which celebrated the 40th anniversary of the British Darts Organisation, [1] [2] with membership restricted to darts players that achieve a nine-dart finish at BDO / WDF major and open events.
The 2013 Winmau World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/WDF calendar for 2013. It took place from 10 to 13 October, with 10 October play at the Bonus Arena for the non-stage matches, and 11–13 October play at the Hull City Hall , which hosted the stage element of the event for the third year.
Controversy hit the tournament in May when it was confirmed by the British Darts Organisation that the Winmau World Masters had been moved from its original dates of 26–28 October to a new date of 16–18 November [1] clashing directly with the Grand Slam of Darts - a new tournament which was hoping to feature the top players from both darting organisations - the BDO and PDC.
The 2011 Winmau World Masters was a major televised tournament on the BDO/WDF calendar for 2011. It took place from 1–4 September in the Hull Arena , which hosted the event for the first time, taking over from the nearby Hull City Hall .
In 2024 a new host nation was announced as Budapest, Hungary was the host for the 2024 WDF World Masters. [8] For 2025 the Professional Darts Corporation will rebrand their existing Masters tournament as the Winmau World Masters.

Then in an all North American battle, Nicky Virachkul knocked out Hillyard Rossiter 6–0, the first ever World Championship whitewash.
Height: the dartboard is hung so that the centre of the bull's eye is 1.73 m (5 ft 8 in) from the floor. This is considered eye-level for a 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in) tall person. Distance: the oche (line behind which the thrower must stand) should be 2.37 m (7 ft 9 in) from the face of the board.
