Chadwick Lake is a reservoir supplying water to the Town of Newburgh, in Orange County, New York, United States, in which it is located. It is a manmade lake created in 1926 on private property owned by the Chadwick family by damming Quassaick Creek. [1] It was maintained for recreational purposes for 36 years.
Two miles (3 km) to the south, it opens up into Chadwick Lake, a reservoir built in 1926 as a privately owned recreational lake, and purchased by the town of Newburgh in 1962 to serve as the town's main water supply. It is today a town park, with trails and a playground at the southern end.
NY 300 has a large share of local attractions. The Newburgh Town Clerk is located along NY 300 just south of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ.
