Living Shangri-La is a mixed-use skyscraper in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and is the tallest building in the city and province. The 62-storey Shangri-La tower contains a 5-star hotel and its offices on the first 15 floors, with condominium apartment units occupying the rest of the tower. [ 1 ]
A second Vancouver location in the Coal Harbour neighbourhood opened in 2007, and a third opened in 2008 in the Living Shangri-La tower in downtown Vancouver. In 2012 the chain added a new location in Vancouver's Olympic Village complex, billed as an "Express Urban Fare", being half the size of most other locations. [1]

The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore was managed by Westin Hotels & Resorts, until Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited was founded in 1979, and management of the Singapore Shangri-La was taken back over from Westin in 1984. However, it would not be until 1991 that Shangri-La assumed control of the rest of the hotels. [6]
