KNEW (960 AM) is an American radio station licensed to Oakland, California, and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. It is owned by iHeartMedia and offers a hybrid sports and conservative talk format. Most of the programming comes from Fox Sports Radio and Premiere Networks. KNEW also carries Oakland Athletics baseball games.
In February 1986, 960 Radio, Inc., reached an agreement to sell this station to Lost River Broadcasting, Inc. The deal was approved by the FCC on March 25, 1986, but the transaction was never consummated and control of KLAD remained with 960 Radio, Inc. [10] On January 1, 1987, the station dropped its original KLAD call sign for KLKL.
