Beverly Gardens Park is 22 block long and stretches along Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California for 1.9 miles (3.1 km). It was designed by landscape architect Ralph D. Cornell. [1] [2] The park serves to provide a lengthy green swath between the northern residential area and the commercial sections of the city.
The Virginia Robinson Gardens is the earliest estate in Beverly Hills, California. It was the private residence of Virginia Dryden Robinson and Harry Winchester Robinson, heir to J. W. Robinson's Dept. Store. The main house was designed in 1911 by architect Nathaniel Dryden, who was Virginia's father, in a Beaux Arts style.
Beverly Hills stopped the demolition by purchasing the mansion in 1965. [2] [4] The estate became a city park on September 16, 1971, and on April 23, 1976, was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
