Further expansion occurred with the passage of Proposition 5 in 1998 and Proposition 1A in 2000, which authorized the state to sign compacts with Indian tribal governments to expand tribal gaming. After California Governor Gray Davis signed the State Gaming Compact in 1999, the casino added slot machines and more table games.
