The ski area was eventually sold by the Dallas Investment Co. to Kingsbury Pitcher in 1976, another pioneer of Colorado skiing lore. Pitcher is best known for becoming a major stockholder in and CEO of the Wolf Creek Ski Development Company in 1976, and then later taking full ownership and control of the company in 1978.
Copper Mountain is a mountain and ski resort located in Summit County, Colorado, about 75 miles (120 km) west of Denver on Interstate 70. Frisco is a home rule municipality located in Summit County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,913 at the 2020 census . [ 5 ] Frisco is a part of the Breckenridge, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area .
The creek — along with a paved trail that follows alongside it — is easily visible from Interstate 70 between Frisco and the Copper Mountain Ski Area. One of its tributaries, North Tenmile Creek, merges with it near Interstate 70. After this confluence, the creek flows near East Main Street in Frisco before it enters Dillon Reservoir.
