Whilst the iPhone 6 is plugged it to iTunes, press both the power button and the home button. I then got a window come up on the pc saying “cannot connect to phone, do you want to restore?”
Connect the iphone 5 to a charger. Press power and home button to power it off. Keep holding both the buttons until the apple logo appear then release the power button but keep holding the home button. Voila! the recovery screen appears. Unplug the usb cable and plug in to a computer with iTunes. Then the options for recovery and updates appears.
