Mark Arm (born Mark Thomas McLaughlin; February 21, 1962) is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist for the grunge band Mudhoney.His former group, Green River, was one of the first grunge bands, along with Malfunkshun, Soundgarden, Skin Yard, the U-Men, and others.
Mudhoney—singer Mark Arm, guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters—are celebrating thirty-five years since they spearheaded the Seattle music scene and Sup Pop Records.
[1] Turner left the band in 1985, citing differences with the "careerist" Ament. [citation needed] Arm and Turner started Mudhoney on New Year's Day, 1988. The Melvins bassist Matt Lukin was brought in, as was Dan Peters on drums. [1] With Mudhoney, Turner recorded all their albums from Superfuzz Bigmuff in 1988 to Plastic Eternity in 2023.
Mudhoney's latest offering is Plastic Eternity released on April 7, 2023. Peters also played drums for the Ellensburg , Washington based band Screaming Trees from 1990 to 1991, and appeared in the movie Black Sheep alongside David Spade and Chris Farley.
