Beginning in 2012, Brena started recording sessions for two studio albums. The first, Izvorne i novokomponovane narodne pesme (Original and Newly Composed Folk Songs) was released in December 2013. She dedicated the album to her ailing mother Ifeta, who sang folk songs to her when she was a child. Ifeta died the following year.
On December 21, 2017, Brena announced a new song "Boliš i ne prolaziš", in the "Dan uživo" on the N1 TV. [4] The video for the single was premiered in Grand Production studio and then appeared on YouTube on the Brena's official channel.
Composer of both compositions is Kornelije Kovač and a songwriter Marina Tucaković.. With the title song "Sitnije, Cile, sitnije", Lepa Brena participated in Jugovizija, the Yugoslav selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 1983, held on 16 March 1983 in the studio RTV Novi Sad in Novi Sad.
