The Pontiac 301 Turbo is an engine that Pontiac produced for the 1980 and 1981 Trans Am.It was a V8 engine with a displacement of 301 cubic inch which produced an officially factory rated 210 hp (157 kW) and 345 lb⋅ft (468 N⋅m) of torque in 1980.

There were three different iterations of the 301 in 1980, the L37 301, the W72 301 E/C "T/A 4.9", and the LU8 301 Turbo. The W72 E/C 301 was standard for the Trans Am and optional for the Formula, however, the W72 E/C could be deleted on the Trans Am and instead come equipped with the standard L37 301 with a credit.
The only non-traditional Pontiac V8 engines were the 301 cu in (4.9 L) and the 265 cu in (4.3 L).
