The Peru national football team (Spanish: Selección de fútbol del Perú), nicknamed La Bicolor, represents Peru in men's international football. The national team has been organised, since 1927, by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF). [A] The FPF constitutes one of the ten members of FIFA's South American Football Confederation .
Throughout its 100-year history, [1] a large number of Soccer Players from the Universitario de Deportes have worn the first team jersey and many of them have represented Peru on their national soccer team. [2] Teodoro Fernández is the maximum idol of the institution, [3] [4] as well as its historical scorer with 156 goals. [5]
