Motel 6 is an American chain of motels with locations in the United States and Canada. The chain was founded in Santa Barbara, California, in 1962 by William W. Becker and Paul Greene, and derives its name from the fact that rooms initially cost only six dollars. Motel 6 also operates Studio 6, a chain of extended-stay hotels.
William Walter Becker (May 18, 1921 – April 2, 2007) was an American hotelier. He is best known for creating the Motel 6 concept of inexpensive motel rooms.. Born in Pasadena, California, he was working as a house painter in Santa Barbara, California when he took a trip in 1960.
Newport is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County, California. [1] It is located on California State Route 1 near the Pacific Ocean [ 2 ] 4.25 miles (6.8 km) south of Westport , [ 3 ] at an elevation of 135 feet (41 m).
After interviewing people in the industry, Del Pero started working at Sharkeez in Newport Beach, California, which was founded by his best friend's father. In 1998, he then opened Skew's, a teriyaki restaurant. After growing it to three locations, Del Pero and his wife sold it in 2001 and used the assets to create Mendocino Farms.

Antonio de Mendoza, the namesake of Mendocino. Prior to 1850, a Pomo settlement named Buldam was located near Mendocino on the north bank of the Big River.In 1850, the ship Frolic was wrecked a few miles north of Mendocino, at Point Cabrillo, and the investigation of the wreck by agents of Henry Meiggs sparked the development of the timber industry in the area.
