San Manuel Reservation [7] is a federally recognized Indian reservation in San Bernardino County. Originally, it was 658 acres (266 ha) in size, [ 3 ] but has expanded to 800 acres (320 ha). Established in 1891, the reservation was named for Santos Manuel , a prominent tribal leader.
The reservation is used by the descendants of the Nipmuck Indians of the previous reservation, c. 1682–1869, that existed in the same area, who now identify as the Webster/Dudley Band of the Chaubunagungamaug Nipmuck.
