The Fort Worth Stockyards is a historic district that is located in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, north of the central business district.A 98-acre (40 ha) portion encompassing much of the district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District in 1976. Hell's Half Acre was a precinct of Fort Worth, Texas designated as a red-light district beginning in the early to mid 1870s in the Old Wild West. [1] It came to be called the town's "Bloody Third ward " because of the violence and lawlessness in the area.
