The M42 motorway runs to the east of Tamworth and the town is served by junction 10 which also contains Tamworth services. The Egg is a magic roundabout in the town centre. It forms the junction of the A51, A453 and A513 and terminates the B5000. It consists of the roads Ankerdrive and Bolebridge Street, and is listed as being part of the A51.
Council meetings continued to be held at the town hall, where the main room on the first floor was converted for use as a council chamber in 1934. Belgrave is an area of Tamworth, Staffordshire, roughly 1 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (2.4 km) from the town centre. The main feature of Belgrave is Marlborough way which cuts the area in half. Belgrave contains Tamworth fire station, a Morrisons supermarket, a high school, three primary schools and is bordered by Two Gates, Wilnecote and Glascote.
The Tourist Information Centre is located next to it. In front is the bronze statue of Sir Robert Peel, dating from 1852. Former Tamworth MP and twice Prime Minister, Sir Robert delivered his famous Tamworth Manifesto from the window of the Town Hall in 1834.
