The Sixth form was founded in November 2011 and was converted to an academy on 1 August 2013 by the Landau Forte Charitable Trust. [2] The trust has opened several schools in the area, such as Landau Forte Academy QEMS and Landau Forte Academy Amington. An Ofsted report in April 2015 said that the Sixth form 'requires improvement'.
As a part of Building Schools for the Future programme, Landau Forte Charitable Trust took over the management of the school and the school became an Academy in September 2010. No. 8 Elementary Flying Training School (No. 8 EFTS) was a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) pilot training unit that operated during World War II. It was one of twelve elementary flying training schools employed by the RAAF to provide introductory flight instruction to new pilots as part of Australia's contribution to the Empire Air Training Scheme.
