This is a list of the peaks along the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail starting at Springer Mountain. Almost seventy-six miles of the Appalachian Trail (AT) is in Georgia , where it mostly follows ridges, but does climb a few peaks, including the sixth and seventh highest points in Georgia ( Blood Mountain and Tray Mountain ).
The trail starts at Brasstown Bald and heads in a southernly direction along the boundary between Union and Towns counties. After 2.2 miles (3.5 km) and a descent of nearly 1,500 feet (460 m), it reaches Jacks Gap and crosses Georgia State Route 180. Shortly after reaching Jacks Gap, Jacks Knob Trail enters the Mark Trail Wilderness.
It is located north of town of Tivat, and encloses town of Kotor from the south. It is also the site of the Austro-Hungarian Fort Vrmac, built in 1860. Vrmac Tunnel, which connects Kotor with the Adriatic Highway, goes through the mountain. Vrmac is a popular destination for hiking, orienteering and mountain biking. [1] [2]

It was established and governed under the Wilderness Act of 1974 when 343,850 acres (1,391.5 km 2 ) were designated as wilderness by Public Law 93-429 .
Fort Mountain State Park is a 3,712-acre (15.02 km 2) Georgia state park located between Chatsworth and Ellijay on Fort Mountain.The state park was founded in 1938 and is named for an ancient 885-foot-long (270 m) rock wall located on the peak. [1]

Bartram Trail on Rabun Bald. In Georgia, the Bartram Trail covers 37.7 miles (60.7 km). [1] After entering Georgia from North Carolina, the trail follows a ridge line to its highest point in Georgia at Rabun Bald, [3] 4,696 feet (1,431 m), the second-highest point in the state, along the Eastern Continental Divide.
The fort dominates the heights above Kotor and guards one flank of the pass leading to the town, with the Škaljari Battery and Fort Vrmac a few kilometers away on the other side of the pass. [2] From 1909, it was also supported by Fort Trašte located on the hills above the plain of Tivatsko polje.
