The New Hollywood, Hollywood Renaissance, American New Wave, or New American Cinema (not to be confused with the New American Cinema of the 1960s that was part of avant-garde underground cinema [6]), was a movement in American film history from the mid-1960s to the early 1980s, when a new generation of filmmakers came to prominence.
A New Perspective is a 1964 studio album by jazz trumpeter Donald Byrd. It was released on the Blue Note label as BLP 4124 and BST 84124. In 2017, it was ranked at number 194 on Pitchfork ' s list of the "200 Best Albums of the 1960s". [4] The album was remastered by Rudy Van Gelder in 1998.
New Criticism was a formalist movement in literary theory that dominated American literary criticism in the middle decades of the 20th century. New American Press was founded in 2001 as part of American Distractions, an arts-support initiative in North Carolina that supported gallery shows, fringe theater events, short film viewings, and literary events. When the company disbanded in 2002, David Bowen and Okla Elliott reformed the literary arm of the company as New American Press. [2]
