Leeann Chin is an American Asian quick service restaurant chain, with over 50 locations throughout the Midwest, mostly in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. The chain was founded by its namesake, Leeann Chin , and funded by Carl Pohlad (banker and former owner of the Minnesota Twins ) and actor Sean Connery . [ 1 ]
Leeann Chin (February 13, 1933 [1] – March 10, 2010) was a Chinese-born American restaurateur, entrepreneur and businesswoman who founded the Leeann Chin restaurant chain in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, which features her name, in 1980.
After the sale to Roundys in 2003, Rainbow began opening Leeann Chin restaurants in its stores, starting with the Maple Grove and Bloomington stores in July 2004; over the next couple of years, Leeann Chin opened 10 restaurants inside Rainbow Foods stores; [5] by 2007, however, they were down to just two locations, which eventually closed. [6]
