The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is a U.K. qualification which prepares students — usually 19+ [1] — for study as an undergraduate at university. The diploma is designed for people who would like to study in higher education but who left school without attaining a Level 3 qualification, such as A-Levels .
The Certificate is awarded after one year of full-time study (or equivalent) at a university or other higher education institution, or two years of part-time study. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] A CertHE is an independent tertiary award, an award in its own right, and students can study for a CertHE in various academic disciplines.
To apply to university, students must submit a single application via UCAS's online Apply service. The application itself requires the student to register to the service, giving a "buzzword" if applying through a centre, fill in personal details, write a personal statement and choose up to five courses to apply to, in no order of preference.
