Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, and dreamt of being a pirate since childhood from the influence of his idol and mentor Red-Haired Shanks. At the age of 17, Luffy sets sail from the East Blue Sea to the Grand Line in search of the legendary treasure, One Piece, to succeed Gol D. Roger as "King of the Pirates".
The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. With his crew, named the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as the "One Piece" in order to become the next King of the Pirates.
Like the rest of the series, it follows the adventures of the reunion of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates after completing their training sessions two years later. The first of fourteen DVD compilations was released on December 5, 2012, and the last one was released on December 3, 2013.

Luffy, Chopper, Jinbe, and Bonney evade the Pacifista after Bonney uses her Devil Fruit powers to confuse it. Jinbe reveals Kuma's backstory as a deposed king, later becoming a pirate and eventually a cyborg. Meanwhile, Lilith leads the other Straw Hats to Egghead's Labophase. There, they encounter a Seraphim resembling Jinbe.
