Frank L. Brothers (born October 24, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a former American Thoroughbred racehorse trainer from 1980 to 2009 with a career win percentage of just over 23%, winning 2,291 races, including 262 stakes winners of which 50 were graded stakes wins.
Bert Sonnier was the Champion trainer at Arlington Park in 1983 and again in 1985. During his career, he conditioned a number of very good horses including the injury-prone Meadowlake, sire of the great Meadow Star , the 1990 American Champion Two-Year-Old Filly and winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies .
He is the brother of jockey Kent Desormeaux and trainer of 2016 Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator. Desormeaux was born in Maurice, Louisiana, part of Louisiana's Cajun region. His brother, Horse Racing Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux Keith was named John Keith in honor of one of his mother's siblings. [2]
