Waukesha South is one of three schools whose students participate in CORE 2062, a FIRST Robotics Competition team. The team won the Rookie All Star Award in 2007, the Wisconsin Regional (Milwaukee) in 2008, and the 10,000 Lakes Regional (Minneapolis) in 2010.
At the 2008 National Championship, Moorpark and Waukesha West achieved the two highest team scores ever recorded at any Academic Decathlon competition. [8] Notably, Waukesha West is the only school in the United States outside of California and Texas to have ever won the USAD National competition, which it did in 2002. [9] [10]
