Brundidge Post Office Downtown Brundidge One of the murals in downtown Brundidge. The town was founded prior to the Civil War by George C. Collier, who established a trading post and saloon. First called "Collier's Store", the town changed its name around 1854 to honor James M. Brundidge, a prominent citizen and founder of the local Masonic lodge.

Pike County is a county located in the U.S. state of Alabama.As of the 2020 census the population was 33,009. [1] Its county seat is Troy. [2] Its name is in honor of General Zebulon Pike, of New Jersey, who led an expedition to southern Colorado and encountered Pikes Peak in 1806.

Four historic sites in the state are managed by the National Park Service. One of these, the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, is also designated an NHL.
