Spartanburg Area Regional Transit Agency, commonly known as SPARTA, is the provider of mass transportation in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. [1] Eight routes run from Monday through Saturday, providing rides for nearly 600,000 citizens per year.
The route runs primarily on Van Ness Avenue and Mission Street. The line at the north end terminates at the foot of Van Ness. To the south, the line turns off Mission at Ocean Avenue and runs to San Francisco City College. The line benefits from dedicated bus lanes along much of its length.
Crossens lay on the route of the West Lancashire Railway from Southport to Preston; Crossens railway station, opened in 1878, was the last station within the Southport boundary.
