Dr. David O. Dykes (born January 16, 1953) is Pastor Emeritus and the former Senior Pastor of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. [1] He is also the author of several Christian books. Under his leadership Green Acres became "one of the leading churches in America," according to president of the SBC Executive Committee Morris Chapman .
In 1991, David Dykes became the Senior pastor. [2] In 2013, the church had 14,000 members. [ 3 ] On August 29, 2021, Dr. Michael Gossett officially became the Senior Pastor of Green Acres.
