Examination is one of the most important functions of the board. Every year a large number of students appear in Telangana Intermediate Examination for 1st Year (Junior) / Class 11 and 2nd Year (Senior) / Class 12 under the two course schemes – Regular & Vocational. Every year, TS Intermediate Examination has to be conducted in March/April.

In the Indian education system of some Indian states, the pre-university course (PUC) or pre-degree course (PDC) is referred to as intermediate or +2 course, which is a two-year senior secondary education course that succeeds the tenth grade (known as SSLC or SSC in such states, equivalent to sophomore in the US system) and precedes to the completion of a Senior Secondary Course.
A 2023 report that interviewed 38 of the top 50 in NEET-2023, revealed that all but one had undergone some level of coaching. Among the 50, 29 belonged to the general category and 37 of the 50 also studied in urban area schools and reported investing significant amounts of money in coaching. [ 24 ]
In 2021, the date and subjects of HSC exam were revised to abridge for the first time. The HSC Exam was held on 2 December and continued till 30 December with only three major subjects for the each group of the students. 26,784 institutions participated in the exam under nine education boards together with 16,35,240 candidates.
The exam is composed of 2 sections, each with 2 different types of questions. Section I consists of 40 multiple choice questions. 28 do not allow the use of a calculator, while the last 12 do allow a calculator. KSEAB came into existence in the year 1966. The Board conducts the SSLC Examination in March / April each year, Second PUC Examination and other examinations are also conducted by this board. [2] KSEAB conducts examinations for Class 10th and 12th of affiliated Schools and Junior Colleges.
The exam previously was held at the end of the year, but with the semester pattern, the exam is divided into halves. The first half was from April–September and the second half was from October–March. Starting in academic year 2017–18, the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme has been replaced by the traditional system.
