Borneo Cultural Festival, abbreviated as BCF, is an annual festival of food, music, and dance that places a focus on cultural diversity of Borneo.The festival is held in Sibu, one of the major towns in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, and was first organised in 2002.

Sibu Division is one of the twelve administrative divisions of Sarawak, Malaysia. It has a total area of 8,278.3 square kilometres, and is the third largest division after Kapit Division and Miri Division. The population of Sibu Division (year 2000 census) was 257,300. Ethnically, the population was mostly Iban, Chinese, Malay, and Melanau.

Sibu District is an administrative district in Sibu Division, Sarawak, Malaysia covering a total area of 2229.8 km 2. [2] It can be divided into Sibu Town area (129.5 km 2) [3] and the rural areas (2,100.3 km 2). The satellite township of Sibu Jaya (26 km away from the Sibu city) is included in the rural areas. [4]
The center building was originally constructed in 1963 as the Sibu Municipal Council. In 2002, the council moved out and the building left vacant until 2008. In 2010, the heritage center was relocated from the basement of Sibu Civic Centre to the council building. [1] It then underwent renovation with a cost of more than MYR1.3 million. [2]
