Oshawott is the best starter for in game B/W. Its only bad matchups are Cilan and Elesa. Tepig comes close with reasonable matchups as well. Snivy isn’t that great because it doesn’t get as many good moves as the other 2 starters. Reply. chrisct01. • 6 yr. ago.
The middle forms of Galar starters are special encounter mons; i.e. you need a Gen 8 mon before to trigger them. They are all at Redwood Forest. You can catch Raboot and Thwackey at land, and Drizzile while surfing. You can then breed them to get their base forms. And Paldean starters, like the rest of the Gen 9 mons, do not exist in Unbound.
That's why Meganinum and Venusaur (non-Mega) suck so badly! Only Torterra gets a pass as a four-legged final form starter. The rest suck once you actually look at them. I'm sorry, but gen 5's starters are simply awful IMO. Gen 2's are pretty bad, but have some redeeming qualities.
Gen 5 - Best: Snivy, Worst: Tepig (I didnt like the Gen 5 starters) Gen 6 - Best: Fennekin (Delphox is <3), Worst: Froakie (I do love him and his evo line, but everyone picked him) Gen 7 - Best: Popplio (Primarina is <3), Worst: Litten (Im okay with Incineroar now, but still wish it was a better design) Reply reply.
Info on Getting all the starters. At the start of the game, you get a Gen 1 starter (Big Surprise) and you can get another Gen 1 at Cerulean city's Pokémon center in a trade (you need to have traded at some point before and a Pokémon with the same type as Your First Starter to trade) and it depends on what starter you first picked (Bulb ...
Gen 5's starters are based loosely on New York as a melting pot of cultures--Serperior comes from European aristocracy, Samurott is a Japanese shogun, and Emboar is--like Infernape--based on a character from Journey to the West.
If you've been a Pokemon fan for any amount of time, it's quite obvious that the gen 5/Unova starters are the most unpopular batch of starters, with the exception of maybe the most recent gen 8/Galar starters. And the worst part about it, I totally get why they're unpopular too. Emboar was yet another Fire/Fighting type, and Samurott's and ...
Strong attacking stats and solid moveset potential, plus it's the only Unova starter with a dual typing. The Unovan starters are a weird case in that I do like all three of them, but I prefer other pokemon of the same type in that same region. For grass type, I prefer Lilligant over Serperior. For fire type, I prefer Darmanitan over Emboar.
The Gen 5 Starters in Class! The Gen 5 Starters in Class! Mmm yes my favourite set of starters, gen 5. Ahhhhhhhh yes. I remember using Greninja in my Gen 5 playthrough. Man Emboar don look like how I remember him. Good to see that Emboar has lost weight! Good for him!
7 is last because none of the starters appeal to me that much, 3 is first because I love all the starters in gen 3, and Gens 5 & 6 are low because each had a Pokemon I disliked (Oshawott, Froakie). 3 > 1 > 5 > 4 > 6 > 2 for fully evolved forms. I found the Gen 2 final forms pretty dull and I didn't like Delphox in Gen 6.
