Holy Family Academy (HFA) was established on August 20, 1906 as the first Catholic parochial school of Angeles City through the initiative of Fr. Pablo Gamboa and with the assistance of the Board of Directors of the Parochial School in Angeles City composed of Mariano V. Henson, Juan G. Nepomuceno, Sr., Laureano Suarez, Filomeno Leon Y. Santos, Basilio Henson and Jose P. Henson.
It was formerly named Colegio de la Sagrada Familia or Holy Family School, when founded in 1912. On June 30, 1959, the Holy Family School was renamed St. Mary's Academy (SMA). It provides Preparatory, Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary education. It is the only Catholic school in the town of Baliuag, Bulacan.

The school was founded on March 26, 1989, by Dr. Lina Galvan-Tan and was named after the Virgin Mary of La Sallete in France. The school's name is the Spanish translation of School of Our Lady of La Salette. It started as a kindergarten school and expanded its course offerings by opening the grade school, high school, and the college level.
