The bug difference between crossbow scopes and firearm scopes is the speed and trajectory of the arrow versus the bullet. A 30-06 bullet may only drop a couple of inches from 100 yards to 200 yards A average 400 FPS arrow will drop 21 inches just from 90 to 100 yards. The same 400FPS arrow will drop about 2.5 inch's from 20 to 30 yards

Crossbow scopes with lighted reticles can be a good compromise between the hunting and target style reticles. They allow a scope reticle design to have very fine aiming points for target shooting, and then can be illuminated for hunting with. You will find that these scopes will cost you more than other crossbow scopes.

If you go with a scope be sure to check out the MAP and SR illuminated by Hawke. they have unique features not found on other crossbow scopes. I basically use 3 different red dot reflex sights. the discontinued Ten Point 30mm 3 dot for faster crossbows for 20/30/40 or 30/40/50 yard sight-in and the 3 dot Stryker reflex for slower crossbows to ...

I believe that the discontinued Vortex XBR and the current Huskemaw 2 MOA crossbow scope are 2 of the best or the best two crossbow scopes. I have a Husky on 1 X1 and an XBR on my other X1. My favorite is whichever one I took hunting that day. Another option is the rifle scope of your choice on either a Jack Plate or an Optimizer/Tetra.

With out trying to get in a pissing contest, you compared the Vortex to a Hawke, all I said was you don't need a $600.00 scope for a forty yrd shot, and comparing a $600.00 scope to a $200.00 scope, glass wise or anything else just is not a fair comparison, Vortex is night and day compared to hawke's (quote) talking about nocking another product.
