The 22671 / 22672 Chennai Egmore–Madurai Tejas Express is India's second semi-high speed Tejas Express introduced by Indian Railways connecting Chennai Egmore and Madurai Junction in Tamil Nadu, after Mumbai CSMT–Karmali Tejas Express. It is currently being operated with 22671/22672 train numbers on six days a week basis.
The train runs at a top speed of 110 km/h (68 mph). It is a Prestigious train with Southern Railway Zone. It is now running with LHB rakes (Linke Hoffman Busch) from 15 August 2016 and is maintained at Madurai. 50th Anniversary of Pandian Express was celebrated by Railfans and Rail users on 1/10/2019 at Madurai Junction with a cake cut. Nellai Express is a Superfast train operated by the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It runs on all days connecting Chennai Egmore with Tirunelveli Junction via Villupuram Junction , Tiruchirappalli Junction and Madurai Junction through the chord line.
