In 1993, The Shepherd's Bush Empire was acquired by entrepreneur Andrew Mahler, who invested over £1m in the building in improvements and refurbishments. [3] In 1994, the building re-opened under its original name of The Shepherd's Bush Empire; since then it has hosted gigs and dance nights.

Colosseum played their "Summer 2011" tour of 22 gigs in Germany, Italy, Austria, Finland and Poland. The tour started in June and ended on 20 August in Germany, Rostock, at Bad Doberan "Zappanale" festival. According to the interview of the bandleader Jon Hiseman, Bad Doberan was the last concert of the band.
The tour comprised one night in Wales, one at the Shepherd's Bush Empire (on 26 July 2002) and two at other London venues. Early in 2004, the band's future seemed bleak when they left David Gresham Records and vocalist Andrew Duggan left to pursue a solo career.
