Tobias Gregson (トバイアス・グレグソン, Tobaiasu Gureguson) was a Scotland Yard detective who worked on a majority of the cases Ryunosuke defended in London. He was characterized as a rival to Sholmes' in his stories, which led him to curry favor with Iris, due to the subsequent boost in reputation and salary resulting from it.
Lestrade mentions his "twenty years' experience" in the police force in A Study in Scarlet. [2] In the story, Holmes says Lestrade is "a well-known detective". [3] It is observed by Holmes that Lestrade and another detective, Tobias Gregson, have an ongoing rivalry, and he identifies the two as "the pick of a bad lot.
