Carl Dean Wilson (December 21, 1946 – February 6, 1998) was an American musician who co-founded the Beach Boys.He was their lead guitarist, the youngest sibling of bandmates Brian and Dennis, and the group's de facto leader in the early to mid-1970s.
Starting with 1965's The Beach Boys Today!, they abandoned beachgoing themes for more personal lyrics and ambitious orchestrations. In 1966, the Pet Sounds album and " Good Vibrations " single raised the group's prestige as rock innovators; both are now widely considered to be among the greatest and most influential works in popular music history.
