The Longview Farm Elementary school became a realization in 2005 with a partnership involving the Lee's Summit R-7 School District, the City of Lee's Summit and Gale Communities. Gale community bought the remaining land of Longview Farm to establish a 260-acre project community, called New Longview, with historical preservation in mind.
