PS-87. ADMIN MOD. What’s the best driving and most reliable SUV of the past 5 years. Hey all! I wanted to see what people had good experience with and what I should stay away from for used SUV’s. I looked online but it’s a crap shoot so I figured I’d ask some real people. Im looking to buy an SUV and hopefully stay under $25k and 40k miles.
You can easily find a used high trim CX-5 that would include everything that I’ve listed with low miles somewhere in the $20,000 to $25,000 range. You’re better off getting a 2019-2020 RAV4 hybrid. Gets 40MPG and comes with a 10 year/150k warranty on the battery and Toyota makes some of the best hybrids out there.
Much more expensive (and larger) than the average subcompact SUV. Subcompact crossovers are typically in the mid-$20k range, the Model Y starts at like $40k by 2021 (and before then will be like $48k). Not to mention, it's basically just a slightly taller and more expensive version of the Model 3. It's no higher off the ground than the Model 3 ...
the cx-30 offers 191 and an 8-second time with standard all wheel drive and a far better interior and featureset for almost $5k less. The Envista actually starts cheaper than the CX-30. Its base trim is $23,495, while the CX-30 starts at $24,995.
Ultimately, at $19k you’re in a pinch and I’d look for a Mazda CX-5 or so. Those are great cars with reliability and ride very well. 5. Reply. Award. Share. staluxa. • 2 yr. ago. With this budget and current car prices I don't think you have any SUV options.
The Tiguan would be best out of those listed under 70k according to a mechanic I ran a bunch of different models of cars by. I think the only american suv he recommends is the explorer. I feel like the Chevy trax might be the best bang for your buck. There’s also Toyota Corolla suvs out there.
For sure! The crv is basically a car with more space, that’s raised higher off the ground. Perfect family vehicle for a 3-4 person family just looking to get more space than a sedan, should get you all the benefits of having an suv that it sounds like you need, while still maintaining a car-like quality to it (doesn’t feel like you’re driving around a massive thing, gets decent mileage ...
Good if you're going off-road. Rav4 and Highlander have better gas mileage, good quality. Much more economical as a daily driver and long road trips. Really any Toyota is good quality, depends on how much you're willing to pay on gas. 4Runner looks like it over my budget. Comes under around $40k used.
I loved my 2016 Sorento SXL if you want a full size. Bought 2017 Sportage for $19,400 before taxes last year with 49k miles. Has been a dream! Parents were also staunchly against me getting a KIA but now they’re convinced that they’re higher quality than they originally thought.
If you don’t need a true SUV like a Tacoma, Suburban, Tahoe, Sequoia, Durango, Expedition etc just buy a larger crossover. Save your money, get better fuel economy and better driving dynamics. Loving the Santa Fe so far. 45K CAD got me 4 wheel drive and a panoramic sun roof… should be $35K USD for a similar model.
