The Heroes Cup (in French: La Coupe des Héros) is an annual basketball competition for men's teams in Burundi. It is held to celebrate the Independence of Burundi and to commemorate its national heroes. It was established in 2017, and is organised by the non-profit organization Fondation Pax-Burundi and the FEBABU. [1]
The cup competition begins with a group stage with the lowest ranked teams from the Rwanda Basketball League and the Rwanda Basketball League Division 2. The winner of each group advances to the playoffs, which is played in single-elimination format. The semifinals and finals are held over one weekend, and a third place game is played as well. [2]
