Kleptomania is the fourth and final album by English rock band Mansun, released posthumously in September 2004, following the band's split, as a triple album.The first CD features the material that was to form the basis of the band's next album, which was originally going to be self-titled, and the other 2 CDs feature EP tracks, outtakes and demos.

A music video for the song was directed by Walter Stern. Paul Draper explained in the liner notes to Kleptomania that the song was recorded in a day along with four other songs in a self-financed session in "the cheapest studio we could find in the back of the Melody Maker". [1] The track was pressed up to vinyl and sent out to radio stations.
As Mansun's albums were concept albums, each a continuous piece of music, many of the band's singles had to be re-edited or even re-recorded, especially those from their second album Six. The single version of Being a Girl, for example, was just the first two minutes of section of a track which, on the album, lasted over seven.
Momus recorded the tribute song "The Most Important Man Alive" for the Bungalow Records compilation Suite 98 in 1998. Mansun have covered "Shot by Both Sides" live, and recorded it on their fourth and final album Kleptomania. Also Radiohead and Jarvis Cocker have both covered "Shot by Both Sides".
