The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) is a public research university in Kumargaon, Sylhet, Bangladesh. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] Established in 1986, it is one of the leading universities in pioneering research and education in the physical sciences and engineering in the country.

In fact, the faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences has come into being through the up-gradation of Sylhet Government Veterinary College (SGVC). The SGVC was established in 1995 and had been functioning as a "School of Life Sciences" under Shahjalal University of Science and Technology ,Sylhet,Bangladesh. [2]
