DART Underground (Irish: DART Faoi Thalamh), [5] also known as the Interconnector or DART+ Tunnel, is a proposed heavy-rail tunnel in Dublin, Ireland. [6] First proposed in 1972, [ 7 ] as of 2021 [update] it was not funded or scheduled.
DART was created on August 13, 1983, as a regional replacement for the DTS (Although the name "Dallas Area Rapid Transit" was intended to reflect the new agency's coverage of the greater Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, its acronym DART almost immediately evoked comparisons to San Francisco's Bay Area Rapid Transit system, known as BART).

In 1991, DART announced plans to begin excavating the underground tunnel that would contain Cityplace station. The excavation would be completed by 1993. However, it was also announced that the Cityplace station would not open until 1999 for financial reasons; [ 12 ] completing the station after excavation would cost $13.7 million. [ 13 ]
